LAVA SHOW REYKJAVÍK: THE ONLY LIVE LAVA SHOW ON EARTH.

Feel the Heat. Smell the Sulfur. Witness Molten Rock Flowing Inches From You.

You don’t need to hike to a volcano to feel its power. Iceland is the land of fire, but actual eruptions are rare and dangerous. The Lava Show changes that. This is the only place in the world where you can safely witness real molten lava (1100°C / 2000°F) pouring into a showroom, just meters from your seat.

Yes. It is real lava (basaltic tephra) from the Katla volcano area, re-melted to 1100°C. It behaves, smells, and radiates heat exactly like lava in a natural eruption.

Yes, it is very safe. The audience is separated from the lava by a safety barrier, and everyone wears safety goggles (mostly for the cool factor!). However, it does get very warm in the room for a few minutes, so we recommend dressing in layers (t-shirt underneath).

The Lava Show is located in the Grandi district (Fiskislóð 73), close to the Whales of Iceland museum. It is easily accessible by taxi, public bus, or a pleasant walk from the Old Harbour. Note: Transport is not included in the ticket price.

Yes, there is plenty of free parking right outside the building.
